MEET LINDSAY
I moved to Truckee Tahoe in fall of 2004 thinking this would be a temporary stop while I figure out what happens next post college. Instead, I realized this place was home and I am proud that 20 years later, I have the honor of serving this community on Truckee Town Council.
In my early days here, I worked multiple jobs and had multiple roommates to pay the bills and understand the effort it can take to make a life here. For one of those jobs, I put my journalism degree from Boston University to work as a DJ on 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio and spent nearly a decade hosting The Morning Show as "Lindsay with an A".
In 2017, I transitioned to a position at Placer County. My experience working for local governement for the last seven years has given me a unique perspective into the important challenges and issues facing our region.
Outside of my professional realm, I've served on the Sierra Community House Board, volunteered on the Olympic Valley Municipal Advisory Council, graduated from the North Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program, acted on-stage in the Truckee Follies since 2014, and emceed numerous fundraisers and events for local non-profits.
I became a mom in 2020 and have enjoyed getting to know Truckee through the new perspective of being a parent.
I've proudly represented Truckee on the Town Council for the past four years and in 2023, had the honor of serving as Mayor. A few of the accomplishments I'm proud of include:
-
Enhanced emergency preparedness through investment in cutting-edge technology and permanent staff
-
Creation and deployment of innovative housing programs to provide opportunities for our local workers
-
Investment in key infrastructure and transportation to improve connectectivity
-
Increased support for communication and community connections
Over the next four years, I will continue to support important initiatives like these to advance the important projects, programs, and policies to enhance our community's resilience, infrastructure and quality of life.
