MEET LINDSAY ROMACK

LINDSAY 'WITH AN A'

fam6.JPG

For the past 16 years, I have been a proud member of this community. Like many of us, I moved to the area thinking I would just spend a ski season here, but instead I fell in love with this place and chose to plant my roots here.

To get my Truckee life started and pay the bills, I worked three jobs my first year- ski rentals, waiting tables, and working retail. In 2005, I put my broadcast journalism degree from Boston University to use and began hosting a show on local radio station 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio as "Lindsay with an A". I worked my way up to morning show host and operations manager. I also served on the Squaw Valley Municipal Advisory Council from 2009-2016 and had the opportunity to participate in the North Tahoe-Truckee Leadership program and graduated in 2016.

In 2017, I transitioned to working for Placer County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery and then Supervisor Cindy Gustafson as District Director. My experience working for local government for almost four years has given me a unique perspective into the important challenges and issues facing our region.

Outside of my professional experience, I have been involved in the community in numerous volunteer positions. In 2017, I began my service to Tahoe Safe Alliance as a Board Member. When Tahoe Safe Alliance merged with the Truckee Family Resource Center, the North Tahoe Family Resource Center, and Project Mana to form Sierra Community House, I continued on as a Board Member where I still serve today.

I also have volunteered with the Truckee Follies since 2014 to help raise funds for the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association and appeared on stage for various Truckee Community Theater productions since 2015.

I have been able to grow from a recent college graduate ski bum in 2004 to an active community member, new homeowner, and new mom in 2020. I want to ensure that Truckee continues to provide opportunities for others to thrive and establish roots here as well.

Housing, sustainability, inclusion and diversity, transportation, and the impacts of the global pandemic on our community’s health and economy are the key issues I will tackle as your Town Council member.  I am here to serve you and look forward to listening to your ideas and insight before making decisions that will affect our region for years to come.
