TRUCKEE TOWN COUNCIL
THE TOWN
The Town of Truckee is one of three (3) incorporated cities in Nevada County (Grass Valley and Nevada City are the other two). The 2020 population estimate, according to the California State Department of Finance is 16,228.
THE ELECTIONS
The Town is governed by five (5) Council Members, elected at-large. Elections are held every other year, and terms are staggered. This year, THREE seats are up for elections- one seat for a two year term and two seats for a four year term. Lindsay is running for a four year term.
THE MAYOR
There is no separate election for Mayor or Vice Mayor. Each year, in December, the Council Members choose which of them will serve the following year as Mayor and Vice Mayor.
THE MEETINGS
Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers located upstairs at 10183 Truckee Airport Rd. The public is invited to all meetings and citizen participation is welcomed.
